x for your smaller number, x + 11 for your larger one
Using my brain I get 33 for the smaller, 44 for larger.

Two variables in two equations
x+y = 77
and
xy = 11 ..... or x = 11+y (by adding y to each side of the equation)
Substitute for x
11+y+y = 77
simplify
11+2y = 77
subtract 11 from each side of equation
2y = 66
divide by 2
y = 33
x+33 = 77
solve for x
44+33 = 77
check
4433 = 11

You just have two numbers, so you can do this very easily.
They add to 77, so their average is 77/2 = 38 1/2.
The amount that the lower number is less than 38 1/2 has to be the same as the amount that the larger number is more than 38 1/2.
What is that amount? Obviously 11/2 = 5 1/2
So 38 1/2  5 1/2 = 33
and
38 1/2 + 5 1/2 = 44.
33 and 44 are the numbers.
If this is for a class, you need to know how to set up two very easy formulas and solve them.
Assume the numbers are a and b, and that a > b
Then you have
a + b = 77
a  b = 11
Add those equations and you get
2a = 88 so a = 44
Then 44 + b = 77
so b = 77  44 = 33
