Isn’t light speed too slow to travel across the galaxy?
It takes 100,000 years for light to traverse the galaxy. But people in Star Wars do it in a matter of hours. So they’re not really traveling at light speed.

Not at all! Just look into the night sky and see all the stars; some of which no longer exist but the light from them is still traveling through the Galaxy! Think on that one!

No, they are not. If we are assuming they are in the same universe as us, with similar sized galaxies, same laws of physics, same light speed, then no. Nothing can travel faster than the speed of light. I don't think Star Wars would be quite as popular if there was a 100,000 year long scene of them traveling. Good thing it's not real or the physicists would be in a panic and George Lucas would be unemployed.

is it , you can see stars at any speed , you wouldnt if you where traveling at light speed .

Yes, that's why PRACTICAL interstellar craft will use some sort of "Physics shortcut" like warping or space jumping, rather than brute force speed. We will simply have to do research and wait for the technology to to be able to do it.----120 years ago simple FLIGHT was "impossible" too---Technology progresses.

You need to remember Star Wars is Science Fiction
Just like Star Trek, Doctor Who, Space Odysey 1999
and the Age of the Pussyfoot
Light Speed would be they only way to travel between Stars, Multi Light Speed for the Galaxy
And less than 12 Parsecs for the Kessel Run !! HA HA
For all this Velocity you would need to beat the Cosmic Equation
E = M c^2
And the Force needed for that kind of Velocity is to all practicalities and Purposes is Insurmountable

Star Wars is all fiction. !!!!!
So what they are doing in S.W. is travelling faster than the Speed of Light. If this happened in reality , they would be in another dimension.

Had you left earth in 1900, travel at the speed of light, you would just now be reaching the center of the Milky Way.
Space is vast, even beyond fantasy like star wars.
( and we are not even on the outer rim.)

You bet it is.
Just as the speed of light *is* too slow to make it across the galaxy in a reasonable amount of time, movies can do miraculous things. They can even make Emma Watson's breast implants look natural.

Either that or the Galaxy is very small. But yes. Then again, 'Star Wars' has always been a load of b0ll0x.

If only we were fictional like they are in Star Wars.
