 Part 1.c. Assuming someone born today lives to the age of 100, how much wider will the Atlantic Ocean become during his or her lifetime?

    So without knowing the current expansion of the ocean today, just how are we supposed to calculate this - are we supposed to research it for you, yet you probably have that information in your homework somewhere.

    Perhaps in Part 1.a or Part 1.b...?

    USGS is giving 2.5 cm/yr as the spreading rate of the mid-Atlantic ridge, so in 100 years the ocean would become 2.5 m wider.  Apparently your textbook gave a different spreading rate, but I'm going to say the answer they want is 333 cm (3.33 m).
