It expands the capabilities of the internet, and it will get to a point where the internet will become just like a local disk drive where you wouldn't even know that you are connected to the internet.

5g is faster for internet down loading that all , lte is the voice quality , go for voLTE is 4g but better sound and voice quality if your provider supports it . 4g is good for another 10 years , stay with it , its cheaper than 5g . 5g is the latest but you  dont really need it unless your a geek .

LTE speeds can actually go up to a Gigabit so no people don't need 5G speeds exceeding that for anything on a phone.   However 5G is about a lot more than just speed.  The advantage of 5G is more about latency (response time from when you start to load something)  and more so frequency availability in congested areas.   What is frequency availability and why do I care?

    Example:

You go to a crowded sports stadium or a town festival, with LTE the tower can be so congested your phone is almost unusable, but with 5G it can allow 1000's of people to upload videos and post their selfies.

For business it could be good not really for home users. Not sure why anyone would want to watch a movie on a smartphone the screen are just so small and not a good experience.

People have 200 MB per second internet it takes no more than 50 to stream the very best Blu-ray. No matter how fast they get people are always going to want faster
