There is chlorine in the swimming pool at the YMCA.  You can jump in with a brand new pair of BLUE JEANS and it does not hurt them at all.

City water supply is chlorinated so you wash your clothes in that water and it does not affect them.

Bleach is a different chemical.  It is not chlorine. It instantly takes the color out of clothes to white.

So know what you are asking about and Google it.
