i want a mario game on my switch but i do not know which one to get

If you have an NSO subscription you have access to select NES and SNES games for no additional cost which will include all of the older games.

If you were to choose between anything you have to buy:

Mario Odyssey, New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, or Super Mario 3D All-Stars

Then if you have nostalgia for the N64, GameCube, and/or Wii games, then go with All-Stars.  If not, go with Odyssey.
