It’s an old lady name so I would use the nickname Aria

It's nice, but  from my experience a lot of people will mishear it as Marianne, or shorten it to that finding, Marianna to long to say. I thought I picked a good English name for my daughter, but have been told 'Joanna is a bit of a mouthful.' I don't mind others calling her Jo, which is a short form, but to me 'Joanne' is a different name.

I like it. It's an uncommon but still nice sounding name.

I'm old school with female names I find attractive. Especially ones that end with "a". Cassandra, Veronica, etc..
