The brief involvement of Hitler's forces created the misconception that he "honed his terror bombing" tactics in this conflict.

Those who believe this have no idea what terror bombing is.

Dropping a few bombs on populated areas will undoubtedly produce collateral damage in the way of fatalities in the same way bombing of any populated target in Germany, Britain, or elsewhere will.

The difference is, repeated bombings on highly populated cities for the sole purpose of targeting innocent civilians is a crime against humanity - which Churchill and Arthur 'Bomber" Harris were guilty of when they bombed Hamburg, Dresden, and many other German cities.

Hitler never did this. The only exception was London - AFTER Britain bombed Berlin in 1940. Hitler's attack on London was a direct response to Churchill's attack on Berlin. It would have never happened otherwise - up until this point, Hitler and Chamberlain both respected the rules of engagement that were proposed by Roosevelt, which stated that only military objectives would be targeted.

Churchill's thirst for German blood led him to ignore this policy, prompting Hitler to respond in kind.
