No, it is very structured, with many words being formed from wordstems and rather consistently used prefixes and suffixes.

Sort of. It was created by a guy who spoke Russian, Polish, French, German, Hebrew, Yiddish, English and knew Latin, so most of the wordstems are european in origin.

One reason why Esperanto is bigger than any other conlang is the fact that Zamenhof - the guy who initiated the language in 1887 - explicitly allowed ordinary users to add new words, rather than keep all the strings in his own hands
