Did the queen sack the courtier who advised her to act like a common film star when she was filmed with Daniel Craig for the London Olympics?

How beneath her it was to be pretending to be meeting with the fictional character James Bond in the palace and then to appear to jump out of an aeroplane with a dress on (although it was a dummy). At the time, many spoke about how undignified it all was.

I thought it worked well. To me it symbolised that the Olympics was bigger than a nation state, bigger than a head of state. For three weeks, people were prepared to set aside their normal roles and boundaries to make the London Olympics work. Although the Queen is no thespian, it must have done something right as we all remember it so clearly.

No. It was brilliantly funny. The best part of the opening show. HRH Willow got to show off her acting chops as well.

No, why should she? The Queen would not have agreed to take the part if she felt that it was demeaning to her dignity, the dignity of her position. The Queen even insisted on having a speaking part. Her dresser, Angela Kelly, wrote that the Queen chose to say,"Good evening, Mr. Bond," a line heard in the many Bond movies.

The Queen's private secretary, Edward Young, still works for the Queen in that role.

A stunt man jumped out of the aircraft, not a dummy.

Nobody at all said it was undignified, it was just a bit of fun, the queen was a good sport and by the way it was not a dummy, it was a stunt man wearing a  similar dress!

Of course not. The director, Danny Boyle, was offered a knighthood.

It was because it was so out of character that it worked as a gag. 

The jumper was Gary Connery, a professional stuntman.

The Queen wouldn't have done that if she'd not actually found it amusing.   Rest assured of that.  And as such, why would she sack whoever made the suggestion she did this?

I understand it was a person who did the jump, not the Queen obviously, and not a dummy who would have fallen differently.

It wasn't a dummy, you dummy, it was a real person, just not the Queen.
