Why does Walmart sell only edited CDs and Vinyls, but Target doesn't? ?

Target sells explicit albums, but Walmart sells only edited ones.

Because they are 2 different stores.

Company decision.  The owners of Walmart got enough boycotts and threats from their customers that they made the decision to not carry explicit material.  Plus they were getting charges filed against them in some places where minors managed to purchase explicit material.  No one has targeted Target that way, so they have not made a policy against selling such material.

Plus Walmart is a largest enough retailed that if they refused to carry the material, the artiest/studios would lost much of their ability to distribute their material.  So they will produce edited versions for Walmart.  Target is not a large enough retailer that if they stopped carrying the albums that the artist/studios would lose money.
