Why do black American women breastfeed their children? Where as MAJORITY white American women use baby formula?
I’ve heard this a lot from both sides, just curious.

You've got that backwards. White mothers are more likely to breastfeed, with about 78% of white mothers attempting to breastfeed, and 45% still breastfeeding at 6 months. Comparatively, about 60% of black mothers attempt to breastfeed, with about 30% still breastfeeding at 6 months. Likelihood of breastfeeding increases with both education level and economic stability, so the fact that black mothers are more likely to face less opportunity in higher education and in the workplace is a likely explanation for much of this gap. Asian women as a racial group are the most successful at breastfeeding, but education and economic bias tends to work more in favor of those who identify as Asian than against.

I find it odd that you discuss the topic of breastfeeding so frequently with strangers and then feel it necessary to turn your anecdotal observations into incorrect racial stereotypes.

You might try researching it. It's only about 1/3 of black American women who breast feed as compared to over 50% of white women.
