Could a computer run forever and never break ignoring the fact it's processing power wouldn't cope with newer software over time?

all circuit paths wear out over time with use.
if it sat in the closet and never got used then it might last longer, but if it's being used, it WILL die one day.

Dont use a hard disk and use fanless design for cooking and your computer will last a very long time!

Depends on whether it has a disk drive. Even the best bearings on the spindle will wear out eventually. Fans will clog or wear out eventually. Some dedicated computers with RAM and ROM but no disks might last a long time but I would say that in general, your answer is "NO".

There was a time when anything you bought came with a lifetime warranty. Nowadays all we have is programmed obsolescence. No, electronics today won't last forever. They will breakdown sooner than expected.

It could but a random powersurge or overheating could kill it at any time. Everything eventually stops working be it electronics or the Sun.
