What would happen if someone floated away on a balloon 🎈? ?

If someone was tied to a bunch of balloons and allowed to fly away what would happen?

Would they drift into space?

Might they float back down somewhere?

Could they survive the trip?

Update:

Would balloons 🎈 be a potential cost effective mode of transport. Would “balloon airlines” be viable with a passenger cabin lifted by balloons?

Could a passenger bus be floated by the balloons 🎈 and have a system that blows air out the back to control direction.

Could such a system run regular routes from say New York to San Francisco. Would it be possible to cover long distances this way?

If the balloons didn't pop sending them tumbling to their death, they would end up freezing to death. It is possible to do a controlled float though, to avoid all that nonsense.

A bunch of balloons, you said? So you mean kids' balloons. Yes, a person can float upwards if their number is sufficient and appropriate for his or her weight. But going upwards will cause the balloons to inflate more and more since the atmosphere's pressure would become less and less. One by one the balloons will burst. Not an ideal situation for the person linked to them!

They would float until they hit something, or until the balloon became heavier than air.  They could survive the trip, since its not likely the balloon would go high enough that the O2 level would drop to deadly levels.
