Why would an all-powerful god bother with earth at all?

Love - 1John 4:8.  Just as a loving human father wants the best for and helps his children. Also that was his plan. He wanted perfect people to inhabit a perfect Earth. Being almighty, He always accomplishes what he wills.(Isa.55:11)

Religion, as we know it, is a human-centric endeavor. Since the only humans we know about live on Earth, that's where the focus is. It will be interesting how humans react to the discovery of life on other planets, especially intelligent sentient life. Will it cause a rethinking of what it means to follow (especially the Abrahamic traditions) a certain path and how that is reconciled with an ancient's view of the world/existence? A big question and no easy answers.

The invention of a god or such things are and have been used for control for thousands of years if not millions of years.  The Romans knew that eventually the first believers would learn the truth and their invention would be useless. Hence their reason to build churches to be indoctrinating centers. Hence the Catholic resligion re the Vatican is one of the riches dealer of scam on earth.

God's nature is LOVE ( agape in the Greek ) - agape is the irrevocable decision to do or say what is in the other person's best interest, even if it causes us some suffering. The proof of the accuracy of this definition is what Jesus says in John 15:13, "Greater love (agape, in the original Greek text), that he lay down his life for his friend.". The nature of love is to give that love to express it. God created us so that He could love us. The second desire of love is that that love be  returned. It is no surprise that Jesus  said that the most important commandment is: "to love Yahweh thy God with all your heart, mind, and soul."

If you are a creative sort of person, you bother about the things you create. That might be paintings of great beauty. Or sculptures of great form. But what if you did much more than that, by creating a beautiful universe and sculpting a jewel of a planet where you made living creatures to inhabit it? Further, you made the humans on it in your image. Of course you would bother with that planet and those living on it! How could you not?
