What did impeaching Trump accomplish? Was it just for show?

How did it affect his presidency powers?

Do you think Kushner and Trump should be allowed to destroy files pertaining to their pardons and expenditures...

And where is that interpreter in all this.......🤔

It was for futurity.   It can NEVER be denied or questioned.  The trump name will be forever be associated with his FAILURE at the highest level possible.

    An IMPEACHED FORMER

    president.

Not at all for show. His historic legacy will ALWAYS have that stain on it. Of course, after the last month, it's hardly the worst stain on his record.

It accomplished presenting the case before America and letting Americans see for themselves the physical evidence and testimonial evidence of witnesses testify under oath before Congress and so see all the proof for themselves that Trump abused his authority for themselves. This was extremely necessary because of Trump and Trump's propaganda machine and the enormous cloud of disinformation they were kicking up to obfuscate the truth, to cover up the evidence, to silence witnesses.

It also accomplished actually impeaching Trump, the House officially censuring the Trump upon finding him guilty of having abused the power of the Office of the President of the United States. Trump's a bully who thinks he can get away with anything, like criminally traitorous acts to undermine America's democracy and her citizens' sovereignty and abusing his the authority of his office for personal gain, and that anything and everything he says is to be accepted as fact unconditionally and without any basis whatsoever. It was the House employing a extremely rarely used check against the President of the United States abusing his authority.

In almost 250 years of US history, only two Presidents had been impeached. Trump is now the third. He will go down in history that way. That forever taints him and his acts, a condemnation written in indelible ink for forever that he is among America's worst Presidents. That's something, not nothing.

I guess it depends on what the goal was. If the goal was to get him removed from office, it failed. If the goal was to damage his integrity so that he would lose the next election. Then the goal was accomplished.

Impeachment allowed everyone to choose sides. Apparently the Republicans wanted Trump. So Trump they have. They had their chance to be rid of him.

And...there are plenty of interpreters, but a shortage of truth.

It was their duty, to protect the constitution. Like a cops duty is to protect citizens.

It proved that there was no limit to the GOP's turpitude.

Why wouldn't the Senate be interested in what John Bolton had to say? I'm sure many Americans would have liked to hear what John Bolton had to say.

It caused enough of a distraction to ensure the DNC / CCP plan of getting COVID 19 into the US succeeded .
