will credit card companies and other creditors be more likely to forgive debt because of covid?

Update:

student loans are being forgiven why not other debts

    Probably not, but they may give you more time to pay up.

    Financial companies will help if you ask them to but you need to be careful . For instance payment holiday does not mean an interest holiday so the interest is still racking up over a slightly longer time.  Banks and creditcard companies may also work out repayment plans to make payments easier for you .

    They are more likely to forgive ate or missed payments, not forgive the debt.

    no, but many will be more willing to work with you on  a repayment plan

    Ha. No. They won't. They don't even "forgive" your debt when you die. They will still be trying to collect from your estate when you die, if you have one to collect from.

    They aren't going to forgive debt, but many will offer extended payment terms.
