Do you remember the film "the red pill" showing in a theatre near you?  Probably not because the feminist movement threatened a boycott of any theatre that showed the film. Boycotts and threats of them are the primary mechanism of suppression of free speech today.

Yes it does.  Feminism like all modern left wing ideology runs counter to the values of The Enlightenment when it comes to personal fFreedoms and rights.  They do not believe in free speech, and are absolute totalitarians when it comes to any opposition to their ideology.

Exercising your free speech to criticize someone else's speech isn't limiting their free speech. Freedom of speech doesn't mean freedom from criticism.

@Andrew Smith: You're misinformed. Kino Cinema in Melbourne, Australia received a petition asking them to cancel their screening of the MRA-funded film _The Red Pill_, and decided to do so. Other theaters showed it. The feminist movement neither boycotted nor threatened to boycott any of those theaters.

Furthermore, if it had happened (which it didn't), that would still be a bad example. Because boycotts don't limit free speech, boycotts ARE free speech.

Yes most certainly if it's hatred towards women or people suggesting violence towards women or girls.  I agree with freedom of speech, as long as it's not promoting violence or hatred, and I feel the same about hatred or violence towards boys and men.  Only mentally unstable people make violent threats etc...

Yes, very often actually.  Feminism itself cannot stand the test of truth, logic or reason.  It is indefensible on many fronts, and so feminists specifically look to shut down debate rather than engage in a losing battle with logical argument, truth and reason.

Feminists have famously pulled fire alarms to shut down a gathering for Men's Rights issues.

Look at the non-reasons why feminists protested this Men's Rights gatherings ... they can't even explain properly why they are there.  Any answer is the same script-reading or slogans ... "hate", "against women", "men's rights groups are hate groups" and "no hate speech on campus".  Compare that with the guy who went to get a perspective on his friends suicides (plural), who was called a f*cking scum, and completely debased just for trying to get some resolution.  He actually articulated why he was there, unlike the despicable woman that was in his face.

Feminism today is all part of one big radical Leftist movement that uses the critical theory ideology to explain everything.  And it's all indefensible.  You'll  notice that they entire social change movement that uses critical theory (often called cultural Marxis ) opposes any speech that contradicts its own ideology.  It will never defend its ideology baed on any supposed merits.  It cannot, obviously.  So it attacks the person instead, and uses shame  to try to shut down any debate.  Where it cannot achieve that it appeals to authority using the "hate speech" canard to censor.
