It's better to use a private third party visa immigration service or go directly through government? ?
My filipino girlfriend wants a tourist visa and is it better to use a service like filipino visa or go directly through the embassy?

Tell you now a young single Filipina is never getting a visitors visa to the US unless she owns multiple properties/businesses in the Philippines
Filipinos are the 2nd largest group of illegals in the US
Source over 40 years experience in the Filipino American community
Using a visa service is a waste of time and money

Use of any "consultant" or "agent" is a problem due to the high rates of visa fraud through such consultants. IF she qualifies for a tourist visa, she must apply on her own merits. She must prove she has sufficient funds of her own (NOT yours!) for all typical tourist expenses: round-trip tickets, hotels, restaurant meals, sightseeing, local/ground transportation, etc. Above all, she must prove her ties to her own country compel her to return home promptly. Starting with a lucrative job which affords her the luxury of very expensive vacations. YOU are her "ties" to US, which poses a serious complication to getting any visa.
If she thinks she's going to come to US, marry you & remain, that's visa fraud, which can get her permanently barred from US. She would have to return to Philippines immediately, and then you could file for her spouse visa. Spouse visas typically take a lot longer than fiance visas, so she could be back home for 2 years or more before she gets any spouse visa. IF, of course, she never violates any visa.

No one can get her or help her get a USA tourist visa. That especially applies to "visa consultants". She has to apply on her own merits, and it is highly unlikely a young, single woman from the Philippines can get a USA tourist visa.

The only thing an immigration "consultant" can do is file the paperwork for you. Given that they often charge as much as a lawyer would you're better getting a lawyer if you don't feel competent to do the paperwork yourself. But of course even an attorney can't get you a visa if you're not otherwise qualified to receive one.

Visas are ONLY issued from and by the Government of any country and MANY countries advise people not to pay for and use agencies/consultants.... they are less likely to get a visa if it via an agency/consultant..... if the person is unlikely to get the visa directly hey can be sure they will not get it via a third party and the reality is a single filipino female is unlikely to get a tourist visa as too many have abused their tourist visa and remained illegally

Never use an immigration service for anything. Most countries automatically refuse anyone who goes through a consultant and a refusal on your record makes it far harder next time. Your girlfriend needs strong ties to her own country (good job, house lease or ownership), no ties to the US and it is a short trip that she is funding herself. The embassy will ask for bank statements and a letter from her employer. Everything is verified before you even get to the interview.

We never wasted time nor money for third party help. Just always did everything ourselves. It's a lot of reading, but as long as you have everything in order and what the government asks for, you should be ok.Source(s): Personal experience.
