Which is the worse result, a dead police officer, or a dead innocent bystander?

Do cops have the right to go home at night, if an innocent person isn't?

It is tragic if an innocent bystander is injured during a police action.  What is worse is if a policeman would be injured when a criminal refuses to stop, show their hands and submit to the arrest.   So a dead bystander having not contributed to the situation is the worst outcome.  A dead or injured policemen is the second worse possibility.  A dead suspect who contributes to his own injury or death is sad, but  when they cause the interaction that causes the event, it's not nearly as sad as the other two examples.

Pretty callous question. Both deaths are tragic.

Cops took the job.  There duty to do the job.  Citizens lives as they pay tax's not steal tax money have far more value than a cops life ever will.

Is that innocent bystander a documented resident of a known drug dealer? That could be considered a stash house, as he has been seen picking up packages from there? You know it’s not every arrest is made with a NO KNOCK warrant. It takes special circumstances. In this case, innocent is just a term. She knew who and what he is. A man that sells drugs and kills more innocent people than all the police departments.

Your question suggests there is a universal answer that applies to every scenario. There is not.

This is the rhetorical failure of baiting the question to elicit the response you desire.

No mention of the cause of the absolute majority of these hypothetical deaths......violent CRIMINALS.

Their existence and the soft treatment they get is worse.

Let's not compare the value of a human life. Neither is acceptable, nor is even killing a criminal who has not committed a capital offense. The counter to your argument, the innocent bystander is not on a job with known risk and paid to do it, not assumed armed and shouldn't be in an ideal society, and not trained to handle events nor expected to wear protective gear if they wish.

🥴 Well if humans would stop committing crimes, everyone would go home.

I dont feel sorry for those who were at the wrong place at the wrong time either. 😒 You know better. You know what happens after hours.

🥴 The freaks come out at night.
