Buying a home in florida?
Me and my husband are moving from Illinois to Florida soon and would like to buy a house. I want to know how do we go about purchasing if all of our job history is in Illinois

It's done the same way you would do it in Illinois--you apply for the mortgage. The bank doesn't care if your job history was in Florida or Illinois. That isn't what qualifies you. Your credit, cash, assets and your employment is what qualifies you no matter which state you live in.
But don't try the process until you both have jobs in Florida. If you're unemployed it won't matter which state your assets are in--you probably will be turned down.

You get qualified for a loan and find a realtor to help you find a place. There is a thing called a telephone, internet and good old mail to where your background and history can be verified regardless where you move to.

I assume you have new jobs in Fl, or have the income (passive) and cash to buy it regardless. That being the case, it won't be a problem. If you are moving to Fl and will be temporarily unemployed, then you will have to wait at least until you have jobs and possibly even 6 months after that (so rent a place for the time being).

Are you retiring or relocating? If you're relocating you'll need to show current income when applying for a mortgage and possibly be set back a little as you've just changed jobs unless it's a transfer and you're working for the same employer. If you're retiring and your retirement income is satisfactory, there'd be no problem.

Don't worry - your credit history will follow you to Florida or anywhere nationwide. You will also need to show several years of your tax returns and paycheck stubs and a lot of other information.

You probably need a mortgage from a bank. The bank wants to know you can repay the mortgage. They want to know where your income will come from. If you are still working for an Illinios company while living in Florida, just say that. If you are going to work for a Florida company, you will need proof of employment.

If your credit is good enough and your job is in the same field you should be fine. Or you can pay cash and your credit & job won't matter.

unless you have jobs waiting for you in Florida, you don't get a mortgage. The jobs also have to be in the same line of work you currently do to qualify.
