Does an electric violin need a humidifier?

Question

I have a couple of electric violins, and I never use a dampit or other type of humidifier in the case, with no apparent ill effect, but I thought I would ask just to be sure.

The solid one seem to have no need (cheap chinese), but my NS Design has a gap large enough in my thinking to qualify to call it a semi-hollow.
