Was Matthat a Gaelic name?

This is in response to a person that asked a question, to a question i asked.

He/she wanted to know if the father of Beli Mawr was named Matthat.

However, nowehere was it said that Beli Mawr was "thee" grandfather of Jesus.

Beli/Heli Mawr is said to have been related to Heli, is all.

"Heli (Greek: Ἠλὶ, Hēlì, Eli in the New American Standard Bible) is an individual mentioned in the Gospel of Luke as the grandfather of Jesus. In Luke's genealogy of Jesus, Heli is listed as the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary, and the son of Matthat (Greek: μαθθατ).".

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heli_(biblical_figur... .

However, regards to Matthat, it would appear that Matthat was actually a Gaelic name.

"Arianrhod (Welsh pronunciation: [arˈjanr̥ɔd]) is a figure in Welsh mythology who plays her most important role in the Fourth Branch of the Mabinogi. She is the daughter of Dôn and the sister of Gwydion and Gilfaethwy; the Welsh Triads give her father as Beli Mawr.[1] In the Mabinogi her uncle Math ap Mathonwy is the King of Gwynedd, and during the course of the story she gives birth to two sons, Dylan ail Don and Lleu Llaw Gyffes, through magical means.".

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arianrhod .

There was a Brythonic king of the time named Math ap Mathonwy.

So, why is it more likely that a person such as Matthat would be related to non Gaels that do not have Gaelic names?

Updated 5 days ago:

"In Welsh mythology, Math fab Mathonwy (Welsh pronunciation: [ˈmaːθ ˈvaːb maˈθɔnʊɨ]), also called Math ap Mathonwy (Math, son of Mathonwy) was a king of Gwynedd who needed to rest his feet in the lap of a virgin unless he was at war, or he would die. The story of Math is the fourth of the Four Branches of the Mabinogi.[1]".

You're at it again. 'Math' is not 'Matthat'.

Just because there is some similarity (in one recent case a single letter) in names you decide that there *must* be a relationship.

It most certainly doesn't appear that Matthat is actually a Welsh name.

And no, there is no reason to suppose that Beli or Heli Mawr was related to Heli or Eli.
