31/4 (Improper fraction, sometimes, but incorrectly named a 'top heavy fraction').

Method to form an improper fraction .

Multiply the coefficient '7' by the denominator '4'

7 x 4 = 28

Then add '3' the numerator 28 + 3 = 31 .

Place over the numerator '4' . hence 31/4 !!!!

7=28/4 how? Take 7 times 4 thats 28

if 4/4 equals 1 then 28/4 is 7 then you add the extra 3/4 to get the improper fraction 31/4 which is the same as 7 & 3/4ths
