Why do some people have 2 same last names?

I have noticed a few people from Hispanic heritage having 2 exact last names. Like John Doe Doe, or John Smith Smith. May anyone explain?

They are trying to emphasize the fact that they are married to a man who has the same last name as his wife's maiden name.

One last name is from each parent.  If the parents already had the same last name before they married, then the last names from both of them would be the same.

In some cultures children take surnames of both their parents and/or women marrying retain their fathers surname and also take on their new husbands surname....both are from a 'traditional male society' from history and 'ownership' by men of women and their children

Cause their parents had the same surname?  Every country has a few "Smith" names that are so common that it's invariable that unrelated folk with the same name will get together.  South American surnames tend to be made up of maternal-surname-after hyphen hyphenated with paternal-surname-after-hyphen, so each generation has a slightly different surname.

Maybe you should get your eyes checked checked. You might just be seeing double double. This happens when people masturbate too much much.
