What can I buy for around two grand that does 'not' depreciate and can be resold easily ?

Buy gold irrespective of the quantity you would get because anytime in the future you would sell it would give you an appreciated price.

An antique doll.  Depending on what you want to buy, you can buy two or three or four or even five antique dolls for that price.  They don't make them anymore.  They are up in value a lot since I started collecting them.  I continue to buy and sell periodically.

Anything can depreciate it depends on the market.....although gold is likely to keep its price or increase
