How come deviantart has art that is mature content?

Why wouldn't it? It allows for a wider audience, and they do have log-in and age requirements of viewing mature content.

It also gives the artists more freedom and allows for more art to be shown. I've had a non-erotic piece of art removed from a censored art site for showing 1/4 boob, which I honestly found quite ridiculous. Had it been on Deviantart, they'd simply have slapped a mature filter on it if they'd deemed in inappropriate for a younger audience.
