Have you heard that Trump signed an executive order that you can fire a federal worker easier ?

You can fire a federal worker easier while allowing political and other considerations affecting hiring.

These workers are not political  appointees. They work regardless whoever in the White House.

In other words, Trump can fire a worker who don't line up his ideas or beliefs. He want to politicalize government institutions like the CDC.

He signed the executive order last week.

This is so mess up and dirty. What do you think, users?

Bureaucrats at all levels can thwart the legitimate requests of the President. Should they be allowed to contradict the Commander in Chief whenever they feel like it? They were not elected. What sanctions would you impose, if any?

What happens in a normal job if an employee refuses to do what is asked?

I think you should read the bill and hear the reasoning behind it before you jump on the democraps bandwagon of "poor poor pitiful me".

I'd say it is likely that Trump wants to cut down the size of government starting with the Federal employees where no turn-over is common and who have been known to work there years no matter how their quality of work is. Draining the swamp as it's euphemistically called.

Democrats, on the other hand, never met a Federal employee they didn't like. Obama practically never fired anybody in Washington.

Of course the president should be able to fire people. He's the president.

People we elect should be making the decisions. Not career bureaucrats who you can't fire. So if they're incompetent or deliberately standing in the way of legitimate policy, they should be fired.

Really smart, this idea that workers are permanent regardless of performance ensures unmotivated lazy and unaccountable workers.

Making it easier to get rid of bad workers and dead weight is a good thing..

A majority of Federal "workers" do exactly nothing all dat every day

It's about time. It has always taken an act of congress to get rid of a lazy or incompetent worker. Therefore, the management often just lets it keep sliding.
