A gene has 1000 pairs of bases while ARN messager has a mass of 90.000g/mole. Why is there an inconsistency between genes and ARN?

    I've no real idea what "ARN messager " or from where you got your measurement data. However. if you're referring to mRNA; well a single DNA base pair =650 Daltons' (a dalton being 1.67x10^-24 grams (curiously similar to Avagadro's #). That's a base "pair". Since RNA has a tendency to form a single helix, well ... you do the math.
