Do chefs ever beat their meat?

@ Barky - They might end up in a flop house

@ CT - Is that a dad joke?

@ Fred - That sounds like a really big job

@ Michael - That sounds a bit cruel!

@ Pronk - He did it weekly weakly

@ Mm - You sound like an expert

@ LB - If it's overdone

Update 2:

@ Adullah - That's very considerate

Update 3:

@ Sean - And how is your eyesight now?

Update 4:

@ And swear at you at the same time!

As a teenaged boy I was proficient at meat beating and it does make your meat tender

Yes , just to warn it first by beating and warn it that it would be cut to pieces with joyfulness by their own customers.

They give it a good pounding to make it softer.

    Seems counter-intuitive to me.

That's the only way for it to be tender, Barney. You beat it! You get a rhythm goin' ...hard but firm ..soooooo ..firm  ...beat that meat! ...beat it!!!!  (Hey I got a whole brontosaurus to tenderize.)

To perfection and it takes many many repeated attempts to soften the meat to the desired tenderness.

I'd add a photo or video but ya'll just be grossed out.
