'65 vs. '66 Chevy Impala?

After retirement I'd like to get an Impala and take a road trip down Route 66. Which car would be better: a '65 or a '66 Chevy Impala? I'm leaning toward the '65.

The Impala was unchanged for '66, other than the taillights.  They just had to screw up a good car just to be different.  IMHO, the '65 looks far better.

I got a '65 in Jan.'70; a white 2-door hardtop, 283cid / 2-speed auto. Got 18mpg doing 70 mph from  Georgia to So. Cal..  Sweet car, very comfortable.

Not a lot of difference between them , but I like the tail lights on the 65.

They drive and ride about the same.  Consider a 67 Impala. We had one and it was a good looking car. It had a 283 and a glide so it wasn’t going to win any races but it was smooth.
