Why are Gay Men offended when someone calls them a Fudge Packer?
Most folks like fudge and think it tastes good

Because they might not be, they could be a pillow biter.

Any word can be offensive if the intention behind it can be to offend. Even Permafrost.

We'll see. We'll catch you doing it with a hidden camcorder and play you all over the internet with that as the title of the film and see how you like it. There's going to be a lot of it in the future because you Hypocrites get violent. You called the tune and you shall be made to dance to it.

It’s a homophobic slur. That’s why. It’s reducing them to a sex act that not all gay men even like to do.

Probably because that antiquated slur maintains the myth or stereotype that homosexual men do nothing to clean out one's rectum before engaging in intercourse and wind up having sh!t all over the place. It's a childish, grade school level insult from the 80s and 90s.

cause they dont like to be called that

As in any similar name calling, its not the words so much as the intent. In the example you provide, they are not saying this to a gay man because they like eating fudge.
