Are worn down dirt bike tyres puncture resistant?

    No tire is "puncture resistant", Some extra thick,  slime-filled tubes are Self-Sealing. . ID think any  M/C tube has slime .Even if there Was, can still get low and blow off rim with No puncture. Surprising..

    And, Think about it. float bowl  : With knobs, maybe to you have 1 1/4" of rubber. What If a nail  just "happens" to get in Between knobs? You have Maybe 1/4". Which is exactly what you have now on a worn-down tire.

    @Adam, I meant once the nobbles have worn down is the remaining smooth tyre resistant to punctures at least as much as a bicycle tyre?

    how could they be? there is LESS material present.  Didnt you ask about using them on the street as well?

    No. Less even than new tires.

    If anything they are more likely prone to damage.

    Is something thinner more resistant to puncture than something thicker?

    No. More prone to getting a hole.
