You didn't mention what video card you have. Squad won't run on a motherboard's dedicated graphics card if that's what you're using.

You neglected to name your CPU, Graphics card, and RAM to provide you with more information, so you will have to do that yourself.

Minimum to run is actually 2GB VRAM, Game spec'ed minimum 4GB, Recommended 6GB. Video ram is graphics output buffer. There are many factors that determine the needed amount of buffer.

AMD Graphics needs more buffer than NVidia because of their algorithms of data compression. Higher resolution displays need more VRAM. Higher game graphics details settings need more VRAM. Higher FPS needs more VRAM.

The game Squad is poorly optimized for PC according to user ratings.

Your graphics card needs to score at least 4700 G3D and much higher is recommended.

Can't tell how well the game will play by only graphics buffer amount.

You will most likely need to lower the game's graphics settings a fair amount to get it to be playable. There's no way to know exactly how the game will run without trying it.
