They can use common 20# office paper any color. But they'll do batter with 24# paper that's just a little more expensive at staples or office depot.

No specific, you can use office paper.

no they use the clear white paper as you use in inkjet printers.

The ink in a laser printer holds a negative charge, and the paper wraps itself around a drum and the drum is positively charged. The ink magnets to the drum but it goes onto the paper instead of directly on the drum.

The theory could be different now, since I am going by 2005 technology here.

Laser printers don't require a certain type of paper. You can use an office copy paper and get results that are adequate for most uses.

    Yes they do.

Laser Printers and HeatLaser printers melt a solid powder called toner onto a piece of paper. The challenge in selecting a laser printer paper comes from the high level of heat generated by the printer's fuser rollers. This is why laser printer-specific papers are highly heat-resistant. They also have few, if any, coatings, since anything applied to the paper could melt in the printer, ruining the sheet and, potentially, the printer.

No, any reasonable quality office copier paper will do, about 75-80gsm. As the laser printer uses heat to fuse the toner onto the paper, you do need specialist laser medium for OHP printing, label printing, 2 part labels etc.

Usually 8.5x11 or A4 size. Card stock won't feed well in most of them so stick to normal copier paper.
