Why don’t dogs understand the concept of rejection?

You are daft - they can sense rejection even if they cannot intellectualize the concept.

    Can't you?

Cause their love is unconditional, they would even lick that hand that beat them.

Mama dogs reject sick or deformed pups.  Male dogs are fully capable of killing the whole litter.  Isn't that rejection?

Dogs can certainly sense when they are being rejected.

But I doubt they understand just why.
