Are ip addresses being blocked to prevent sales? Sales have dropped significantly. Can ip addresses be encrypted to stop sale on ebay etc?

somebody just has better prices than you.
also, with the current crisis, people are buying less. maybe if we got that stimulus...
but no, eBay doesn't block IPs unless they had to ban someone for breaking rules.

If your sales have slumped, don't blame it on IP addresses. There is no real advantage to having an "blocked" IP address. A competitor would be blocking their own sales, so no one really gets anything from that as far as a sales slump goes. . Sales will slump, it's a given. Look at your product, look at your marketing, look at what you're doing that is keeping viewers from buying. THIS is the key to taking care of a sales slump. Redouble your efforts.

Think of an IP address like the address on an envelop sent through the postal service. If you encrypt the address than nobody can read it and the envelop won't get to it's destination.
When encryption is used on the Internet, the source and destination IP addresses are not encrypted, but the payload behind them is.

The issuing of specific ip's can be the problem in theory and isnt that far fetched to understand that issuance in specific problem bearing codes or ip addresses can be issued. 198.***.1.2.1 as an ip.. "***" categorizes your inquiry to be limited to specific rules when you register a listing on ebay and or amazon. The ip addresses coded with specific numbers like.. "***" may result into banning your listings to be viewed by real visitors on these websites.. DHCP would be the issuer of these limited access IP addresses... remotely limiting an entire geographical area to sell on these websites.
The ip labeled to have limited access is automatically sorted by the listing agent and placed in a dead pool with no real chance at selling the item. In theory this may vary and turn on and off from time to time and exhaust the issue for the specific ip who has placed the listing.
An ip with limited access to sell online.... isnt far fetched and should be investigated to work against it. The theory isn't complicated enough to overlook.
The Ai automation of this idea may be considered criminal for misleading the public into an adverse study contrary to just selling their item . This may be the reason why you aren't charged until you sell the item.

I'm not quite sure what you are trying to do. However an IP address is the physical location of a computer that is used similar to a phone number for a phone. It tells you how to contact that computer. As such you can encrypt a IP address, but then it will be next to useless and as good as entering random information in its place.
If you are a seller on ebay and your sales have dropped significantly then it was either because you have too many bad reviews/ratings, they change their algorithm for the placement of your product and it is no longer being displayed as far up in the search results as it used to, or there is another seller selling the same thing you are at a cheaper price.
