can a restaurant ask someone to leave if they are talking too loudly ?

supposing two friends are eating at a restaurant and they are both having a heated political discussion, there is no aggression but they are talking very loudly in a quiet restaurant with all the other diners being calm, can the management ask them to leave if other customers complain?

They would ask you to lower your voice and if that didn’t work they would ask you to leave. The reason being, if I was a customer in the restaurant at the time, you wouldn’t want to deal with the likes of me! They’re actually trying to save your life!

  • Yes, but typically they would be asked to lower their voice first.

Management would generally ask them to be more quiet first; asking them to leave would be something they'd try and avoid.

Usually a manager would FIRST ask them to keep it down a bit, please, as a few customers have complained.

If they got loud again, then yes, the manager would be right to ask them to leave.
