my teacher thinks I'm cheating??

Question

I used the word Cursando and he had a problem with it. He said we didn't learn that word yet. I learned it from a tv show. I didn't know he would be pissed I used a word we didn't even learn yet. I hope I can't be kicked out of college for this.

No teacher should ever upbraid a student for using a word that was unfamiliar, unless it was used wrongly. In which case the teacher should explain how it should be used.

And talking of words, it is better not to use coarse language, e.g. pissed, in a serious forum asking a serious question.

Do I smell a tiny hint of troll about the question?
