What are some good ways to learn a language quicker?

I’ve been practicing with a tutor and we go over some paper work, speaking and listening etc, but I want to know if music, tv and other things would help!

Of course they would. Any kind of input from the target language helps.

I learned a lot of  French - including some uses of the Subjunctive -  from listening to recordings of easy French pop songs.

And I still remember the thrill of understanding two Russian words in an old movie even though the rest was just a jumble!

I don't speak a second language, but my kids do. They watch TV or movies in that language (dubbed, not captions), chat online in it, and find other ways to use and practice that aren't educational.
