if you are not permitted for any reason to own a firearm..?

is it better to move to a country that doesn't permit the police to carry firearms....80% to 90% of society doesn't own guns or is the opposite like Switzerland where gun ownership is almost required better? what about public safe spaces and "dating/ domestic violence?" essentially all or none.

Arguably both are better.  The facetious answer is since things are worse in the U.S. than in countries where no one has guns and worse in the U.S. than in countries were everyone has guns, the problem isn't whether there are guns, it's speaking English that kills you.  But actually, things are much better in the UK too.
