is mechanics easier than statistics?

    Depends on how your mind works. Statistics is the study of manipulating data. Mechanics is the study of force and energy and how objects react or are moved by them.

    In degree of difficulty they were about the same for me.  I enjoyed the mechanics more because it is applied science.  I can relate to how the relationships actually work in dynamics of real things.

    Statistics are a bit more abstract in many cases.  But there are some practical applications, like queuing theory, that do make it enjoyable.  On the flip side, when applied to something like quantum mechanics, that's too abstract for my taste.
