Is it selfish to host an event during the pandemic this fall?

  • Not really but if you want a big wedding, now isn't the time for that. You can get a hefty fine if you have a big wedding and reception.

Limit the number of guests and have your guests follow covid 19 protocols. If your wedding is going to be indoors, your guests should be following any by laws / protocols that your venue has set up for covid 19.

It can even be illegal...anyone with smarts would not go to a event.

If you can find a way to do it safely it's probably fine. But don't get upset if some people choose not to attend. It's one thing to invite the adventurous but you have to be sympathetic to those unwilling to take the risk.

Yes it is.  A friend is missing her own daughter's wedding today because of Covid rules.  However, if you do host an 'event' with loads of people you will get fined bigtime now.

It's selfish to plan an event that would put those you love in danger; or to expect people to attend that would have valid reasons for not wanting to.

I wouldn't say so. You should definitely try to take some precautions. Maybe wear masks, and don't invite too many people. Don't throw a party with hundreds of guests yaknow? It's perfectly okay to have some small get-together's with intimate friends who you can confirm are covid-safe.

    Selfish, unwise, irresponsible, foolhardy. Yes.
