What does it mean if someone is "hypochondriac"?

    hypochondriac refer to someone who often worry about their health

    It means you care about your mind/body and don't want any damage done to them. It's also a term used by doctors who can't figure out what's wrong with you because they're not competent enough but they don't want to admit that. So they tell you that it's "all in your head"  rather than admit to their lack of diagnostic skill

    This is an old fashioned psychiatric term.

    It means that someone actually wants to be sick.

    This can take the form of hysteria, paranoia,  anxiety, Munchausen's Syndrome, Factitious Disorders,  etc.

    The patient may actually have good normal health, but their obsessive goal is to actually be some way.

    It can be attention-seeking.

    It is a term for somebody who is overly concerned with medical issues and obsess over developing any or many illness or other medical condition.
