Styrofoam is the worst, since there is no real recycling process for it. And it lasts forever in a land fill.

Plastics tend to be harmful because they don't decompose the way natural materials do. Instead it breaks down into tiny pieces of plastic, which gets into the water, then is drunk by animals and finally consumed by predators, including humans.

Other packaging can also be considered harmful, such as paper bags, which have to be made from wood. This means deforestation is involved in producing many paper goods, as we are using wood at a faster rate than it can be regrown.

This is why many stores reccomend you bring your own fabric reusable shopping bags. Not a perfect solution by any means, but it's a start.

first I would say plastics but any packaging that is not disposed of properly, and not able to be recycled would be harmful.

I guess that would boil down to ..The Human package because we are the ones that make packaging, use packaging and improperly dispose of packaging that is harmful
