    Given the eqs y= mx + b, what is the slope?

    Then, what principle, or formula, you saw for the slope of the perpendicular to that?

    Answer that (as an update in your post)  & we will proceed.

    y=−25x+3

    has a slope of –25

    perpendicular would have a slope of +1/25

    so equation is

    y = (1/25)x + k

    use point to find k

    1 = (1/25)2 + k

    k = 1 – 2/25 = 25/25 – 2/25 = 23/25

    so equation is

    y = (1/25)x + 23/25

    or

    25y = x + 23
