    k/(2^x)  . . . x = 1 to infinity

    creates the series

    k[ (1/2) + (1/4) + (1/8) + ... + (1/2^n)]

    = = = = =  looks like a geometric series, with r = 1/2

    ======= this is a PROBABILITY mass function  ....  so  what is the sum of all probabilities equal to??  1

     / / /    k[ (1/2) + (1/4) + (1/8) + ... + (1/2^n)]  = 1

     / / / or  [ (1/2) + (1/4) + (1/8) + ... + (1/2^n)] = 1/k

     / / /   what is the sum??  Geometric ...  this sum = 1

       1 = 1/k

      k = 1
