    Begin by graphing these two lines:

    4x + 2y = 8

    x - 5y = 5

    The region defined by the compound inequality comprises all points lying below either of the lines or below both. Shade that region. The upper boundary is two rays, which are not included. The usual convention is to draw them with a dashed line type. The interior parts of the lines should be eliminated entirely. Here is how I see it:
