Is this a good buy? Chevrolet Impala LTZ 2008 3.9L V6 - 102k miles for $3,800?

Hi All,

What are your thoughts on a 2008 Chevy Impala LTZ with 102k miles? Car looks well maintained and owner claims the car is Very clean & good condition:

Original Mileage, clean title, leather w/ tan interior, power locks and windows. Going to see it tomorrow.

Don't know much about Chevy Impala's but does this sound like a good deal for the car? (or peraps $3,500?)

I drive approx. 15k miles a year (mostly highway) so is the gas mileage good?

Short answer, yes, but don't take the owner's word for it. Get permission to take it to a Chevy dealer for a thorough diagnosis and test drive. That will probably cost $150 but if it comes back clean and you like the car, it's a good price. Not spectacular, but $1500 lower than youy'd pay at a dealer's lot.

Well unless the seller is going to warranty the car, you need an independent mechanic to determine that.

You will have to check KBB and Edmunds to determine if it's a fair price.

Have you checked the Kelley Blue Book? The car is over 10 years old, so probably not, but who can know?
