I am sure that I could find a way to support any of the four answers, but this is the first that occurs to me. The first three words are abstract nouns. The fourth is a noun, but not abstract.

When this prompt is presented, students have to circle which word doesn’t belong (value, worth, place or digit) and explain how the word is different from the other three and how the other three words are similar. In this activity, there isn’t a right or wrong answer. Instead, it’s about students explaining their ideas.
So which one do you think is different, and why?

In math, Worth is judgmental; the others are factual.
